WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — The Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine (OCOM) is celebrating a major milestone on July 31, 2026, as 195 incoming medical students receive their white coats and formally begin their training as osteopathic physicians.

Why This is Important:

The White Coat Ceremony is a landmark tradition in medical education. During the event, future doctors are cloaked in their white coats for the first time and collectively recite an oath committing to ethical practice and compassionate care.

The Class of 2030 represents a diverse group of aspiring physicians dedicated to helping meet the growing health care needs across Central Florida and nationwide.

This year’s ceremony features keynote addresses from key leaders in health care and osteopathic medicine, including:

  • Bill Orr, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at OCOM

  • Dr. Towry, President of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association (FOMA)

Following the ceremony on July 31, the 195 members of the Class of 2030 will officially begin their rigorous four-year medical school curriculum at OCOM's Winter Garden campus.
