Gilbert Singletary, PhD, JD, MBA, MSW

A self-described academic and business entrepreneur, Dr. Gil Singletary is an executive leader with a unique blend of academic, legal, and business expertise. In addition to being an Amazon best-selling author, Dr. Singletary also serves as the Vice Chancellor and Provost at South University, and is the founding partner of Ally Consulting Group, a multidimensional consulting firm with a specialty in education, business, and law.

Singletary has a diverse range of academic credentials to include a PhD in psychology from the University of Kentucky; a JD and MBA from Northern Kentucky University; and an MSW from the University of Louisville.

Singletary’s research and practice includes the understanding of implicit bias, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), racial and cognitive trauma, cultural humility, understanding “social privilege,” cultural integration in the workplace, and many other socio-cultural cognitive domains.

With over 20 years in higher education and nearly 10 years in the legal and business sector, Singletary provides consultation services for a diverse network of clients including Fortune 500 Corporations, law enforcement agencies, governmental entities, private equity firms, educational institutions, and nonprofit foundations.

Singletary has been an invited guest on numerous television and radio networks including CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, Al Jazeera, and many international and regional communication networks. Currently, Singletary serves on a number of local and national boards, representing both the private and public sector.
