Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine Welcomes Class of 2029
Orlando, FL — August 4, 2025 — The Orlando College of Osteopathic Medicine (OCOM) proudly welcomes 145 new student doctors to campus as part of its Class of 2029. This milestone marks the official start of Welcome Week, a time for orientation, community-building, and celebration as these future physicians begin their four-year journey toward becoming osteopathic medical doctors.
These students, selected from a competitive pool of applicants, represent a diverse group of individuals who share a commitment to the osteopathic philosophy of whole-person care. Over the next two years, they will complete rigorous didactic training in foundational biomedical and clinical sciences. In years three and four, they will transition to hands-on clinical rotations at affiliated hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the region.
“We are thrilled to welcome this exceptional group of future physicians,” said Dr. Robert T. Hasty, Dean and Chief Academic Officer. “Their energy, compassion, and dedication to service reflect the values that OCOM stands for. We are honored to support them in their journey to becoming competent, caring, and community-minded doctors.”
OCOM’s mission is to educate and train the next generation of osteopathic physicians to deliver patient-centered and culturally competent care, with an emphasis on serving the needs of Florida and the nation. The college aims to equip its students with the skills and experience needed to address today’s complex healthcare challenges and ultimately match into competitive residency programs upon graduation.
As the second official class embarks on this transformative experience, OCOM celebrates not only their arrival, but the promise they hold for the future of medicine.
